CDL Driver

Job Objective

Responsible for delivering of materials in a commercial vehicle to different locations and job sites including loading and unloading, operates a vehicle over 26,000 GVWR.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs pre-trip inspection including walking around truck for visuals and performing maintenance before equipment is used documenting inspection.
  • Checks all product loads before departure assuring product Quantity and Quality and work order requirements match.
  • Determines most efficient route before departure to make on time delivery.
  • Ensures truck is road ready by making sure load is secure and adheres to all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Standards; this includes being road ready when leaving job sites as well.
  • Examines job sites for safety and operational hazards, discussing any obstacles with senior job site personnel.
  • Acts as lead on all job sites with instructing other team member(s) on onsite responsibilities. Gets all proper signatures on paperwork after completion of delivery.
  • Communicates with dispatcher before leaving job site for instruction on next assignment.
  • Ensures truck is road ready by making sure load is secure and other pre-trip duties such as mounting of Teledyne and buckling of straps and or curtains; this includes being road ready when leaving job sites as well.
  • Upon return to warehouse reloads for next delivery (same day or next morning).Assists in helping with customer loading in warehouse yard when necessary.
  • Assists warehouse personnel in putting away material and general warehouse and yard housekeeping.
  • Responsible for operating a forklift or Teledyne to load and unload materials.
  • May be required to assist with building maintenance. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Company insurable CDL License required – must pass MVR Review.
  • Good interpersonal skills are required.
  • Knowledge of load capacity, safety guidelines and general maintenance of CDL truck.
  • DOT Medical Card – current holder or able to obtain.

Nonessential Skills and Experience

  • Two years of CDL driving experience.

  • Knowledge of load capacity, safety guidelines and general maintenance of  Non CDL truck.
  • DOT Medical Card – current holder or able to obtain.

**Must have the ability to lift 100 pounds on a regular basis. Our products include acoustical insulation, drywall, framing, insulation and other building materials. Responsibilities include unloading, loading material and servicing customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists driver in maneuvering trucks and/or spotting at job sites and or other locations when truck must make difficult turns or when backing up.
  • Checks all product loads before departure assuring Quantity and Quality of product loaded and work order requirements match.
  • Examines job sites for safety and operational hazards, discussing any obstacles with driver and or other team members or involved parties.
  • Communicates with dispatcher if driver is unable to before leaving job site for instructions on next assignment.
  • Upon return to warehouse reloads for next delivery (same day or next morning).Assists in helping with customer loading in warehouse yard when necessary.
  • Aids driver in getting truck road ready by making sure load is secure and other pre-trip duties such as mounting of Teledyne and buckling of straps and or curtains; this includes being road ready when leaving job sites as well.
  • Assists warehouse in putting away material and general warehouse and yard housekeeping such as cleaning.
  • May be required to assist with maintenance duties in warehouse. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Objective

Manually move freight, stock or other materials to and from storage areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles; by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other mechanical equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists drivers and stockers when asked in checking all product loads before departure assuring product and paperwork match.
  • Responsible for operating a forklift to load and unload materials for deliveries and vendors.
  • Read work orders and/or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material/equipment needs.
  • Responsible for loading customers in yard obtaining the proper signature on paperwork. Services customer in a timely manner; pulling orders to be loaded from warehouse.
  • Communicates with the customer service team and purchasing to ensure control of inventory.
  • Examines and inspects stock items for wear or defects reporting any damages to supervisors.
  • Responsible for quality control.
  • No damaged product is sent out. No damage product is accepted.
  • May be required to assist with deliveries Performs other duties as assigned.

  • HS Diploma or GED Preferred.
  • Moderate interpersonal skills are required.
